On Sunday 23rd October the Ulster under 18 girls were crowned interprovincial champions for the fourth consecutive year after four victories in two days. The Ulster side kept a clean sheet for the entire tournament scoring eighteen goals and conceding none. The tournament was held at the Stormont complex in Belfast thus giving the Ulster side home advantage, and making their triumph even sweeter.

The girls in red started the tournament with an exhilarating 8-0 win over Connacht on Saturday morning - two goals from Jill Edgar, one from centre back Amy Cooke and five from Katie Mullan. A tougher battle came in the afternoon though against Munster but, as expected, the Ulster girls rose to the occasion and scored another 5 goals without reply - Chloe Brown and Katie Mullan netted 2 each with a fifth from Chloe McCann.

Ulster always knew their biggest challenge was going to be the game against Leinster, although a victory over South East was still going to be important on Sunday morning. Goals against South East came from Chloe Brown and Katie Morris ensuring another 3 points.

The final game of the tournament between Ulster and Leinster was always going to be a big deciding affair. After a scoreless first half  Ulster lifted the pace early in the second half with a Chloe Brown deflection into the net. Katie Mullan  secured the points with a well worked set piece before Penny Joyce rounded off a well deserved victory with another great goal - Ulster 3 Leinster 0

The Ulster girls would like to thank all supporters who came to watch, all the organisers from Ulster hockey and the team coaches and management.
