Ian Sloan is Player of the Year

It's been a remarkable year for Cookstown schoolboy Ian Sloan. A midfield player, he starred for both school and senior Cookstown teams.

He captained Cookstown High School to win the McCullough Cup, scoring a personal hat-trick in the process. His goalscoring ability was repeated in the Burney Cup Final but Banbridge Academy had the final say on that occasion.

Ian made numerous appearances for the Cookstown senior team, scoring on ten occasions and importantly he scored twice in Cookstown's Irish Senior Cup win against Monkstown.

Parents Martin and Adele were both Irish Internationals and no doubt Ian will soon follow in their footsteps.
